Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Instructors - Instructors are needed for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics evening program. To qualify for these positions, the candidate must have at least an associate degree in a related industrial field. Related teaching experience is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years directly related experience in residential and light commercial HVAC is required. The candidate must have a strong background in ACR theory of operation, troubleshooting and repair. Strong oral communication skills are a must. Excellent customer service skills are required. Aircraft Maintenance Technology Instructor - (FAA Part 147 School) - To qualify for this position you must have FAA airframe and powerplant certificates and at least an associate degree in a related area OR at least three (3) years of practical experience in the field of aircraft maintenance. Position requires some knowledge and experience of all aircraft maintenance subjects (general, airframe, powerplant), but especially the following: aircraft materials and processes, basic electricity, technical drawings, and aircraft maintenance regulations. CNC Machining Instructor – This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of setup AND two (2) years of operation of manual lathes and milling machines plus three (3) years of CNC machine tool operation, set-up, and programming. The capability of performing tool offsets, tool pre-setting, work shift reference and general maintenance specific to CNC machinery with excellent customer service skills is required. Knowledge of programming CNC turning and machining centers, including CNC G-codes and M-codes, Cartesian Coordinate system, selection of CNC tooling, calculating proper feeds, speeds, and depths of cut is critical. Electrical Facility Maintenance Instructors – Part-time contract day/evening electrical facility maintenance instructors are needed beginning in February 2008. To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a minimum of five (5) years of current facility electrical maintenance experience. Excellent customer service skills are required. The candidate should have knowledge in the following areas: Residential/Commercial electrical construction, wiring methods, trade practices and materials based on the National Electric Code, AC/DC circuits, generators, motors, transformers, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Nail Technology Instructor – A part-time instructor is needed to teach in the Nail Technology Certificate program. To qualify for this position, you must have a Cosmetology or Nail Tech certificate or diploma, and a current SC COS or NT instructor license. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Nursing Instructors (ADN) – To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing PLUS enrollment in and 50% completion of a master’s degree nursing program OR a master’s degree in nursing. Candidates must also have a minimum of two (2) years recent clinical experience in medical surgical nursing as an RN and a current SC RN license. Clinical teaching experience in an ADN or BSN program is preferred. These positions will be responsible for providing clinical instruction/supervision for 8 - 9 students in an adult medical surgical acute care unit. Plumbing Instructors – Part-time contract day/evening plumbing instructors are needed beginning in February 2008. These positions require a high school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years plumbing experience in facilities maintenance/construction with the skills necessary to provide instruction for installation, maintenance, testing and repairing plumbing fixtures and pipe lines OR an associate degree and two (2) years experience same as above. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Excellent customer service skills are required. Teaching/training experience in a related area and a SC plumbing contractor’s license preferred. This course is a combination of classroom and hands on practice including faucet repair, exposed waste piping, disposal and faucet installation and repair, drain lines, toilets, sinks, soldering skills and water supply hook up. RTV/Film Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in radio-television or film production or a closely related discipline, and a minimum of (five) 5 years industry experience in either radio, television or film production. In addition, candidates interested in the RTV positions must have a high degree of proficiency in both studio and ENG production, operation and routine maintenance of Arriflex 16 and 35mm cameras and associated equipment, location sound recording and post production sound, assembly and use of lighting equipment as well as lighting aesthetics. Skills in the use of dolly and grip gear and associated equipment, scriptwriting, pre-production and set and prop construction as well as a high degree of proficiency with Phototshop, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and Pro tools are also needed. Student Loan Default Coordinator (SSPC II) #08085 – This position requires a master’s degree. Experience in student services programs with postsecondary student financial aid is strongly preferred. Knowledge of financial aid regulations, procedures and eligibility requirements; knowledge and skill in automated processing and data management systems; ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and computer skills are required. The position is responsible for monitoring the loan eligibilityfor all students by evaluating and awarding student loans based on federal, state and institutional guidelines. Administrative/Technical Assistant – To qualify for this part-time contract position, you must have at least a high school diploma PLUS at least two (2) years work related experience. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Proficiency with MS Office Suite is highly preferred. Responsibilities include acting as the receptionist for students interested/enrolled in Project ASSIST, and disseminating information relating to Project Assist, Student Services, and the College. Other responsibilities may include compiling and tabulating statistical information for the grant and participant files, assisting in the distribution of participants’ vouchers for educational supplies and transportation, maintaining the program’s book lending library, and other duties as assigned. Automotive Glass Training Instructor –To qualify for this position, you must have a current NGAAuto Glass Master Certification. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Ideal candidate must be trained by a current AGTI instructor, and attend and audit a scheduled course prior to teaching the program. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.
Pipe Welding Instructors – Day/evening pipe welding instructors available to work six month contracts are needed. To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a minimum of five (5) years of current welding experience and pass certification tests in each welding process taught. The instructor must able to teach the specific gas tungsten arc welding process of “Walking the Cup”. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Teaching/training experience in a related area is preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in shielded metal arc and gas tungsten arc pipe welding. Pay rate is $40 per hour for a six month contract. These positions are open until filled.
