Trident Technical College’s Learning Resources Center (LRC) has over 90,000 volumes covering all curriculum subject areas. In addition, the LRC is a member of the Charleston Area Library Consortium (CALC). Through this membership and interlibrary loan, additional materials from area libraries are also available. Use the online library catalog to search Trident’s collection and the collections of other area libraries.

ELECTRONIC DATABASES
The following electronic databases are available through the Trident Technical College Learning Resources Center. Additional databases are found on the LRC webpage (http:/www.tridenttech.edu/library.htm). Databases can be accessed on and off campus. Access off-campus requires a current (updated once each term) Library ID number (13 digit bar code number found on your Trident ID card).
CINAHL – Includes indexing for over 1,700 current nursing and allied health journals and publications dating back to 1982.
Medline - Provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE allows users to search abstracts from over 4,600 current biomedical journals.
Infotrac - Includes several databases full of magazine and journal articles, newspaper articles, pamphlets, book reviews, newswires, maps, charts, graphics, etc. Suggested Database for PT articles : Health Reference Center Academic. You may find additional information in others. Using the advanced search feature use keyword and subject searches.
Proquest - contains FULL-TEXT articles in various journals. Under Database, select Nursing Journals. Using the Advanced Search Method try various keywords and subjects. Also you can search in specific journals only (i.e. Physical Therapy in publication name field)
SIRS - an online database updated daily, SIRS provides valuable information on social issues, economics, business, politics, global issues, scientific developments, health, history, government, culture, the arts and humanities. FULL-TEXT articles and Internet resources are selected from thousands of publications and respected organizations. You will find general articles on physical therapy and specific health topics.
Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition - Provides scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also features abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals. The material contained in this database is intended for informational purposes only.
