JOURNAL ARTICLES
To access articles found in scholarly journals use the following suggested online databases:
Health Reference Center Academic (part of Infotrac)
This database provides access to numerous scholarly journals with full-text refereed articles, book reviews, etc. With daily updates, this database will provide you with the most current information on numerous topics in the Medical field. Use specific keywords (i.e. Medical Ethics, Telemedicine) to search for articles. Searches can also be limited to specific journal titles to ensure credibility and relevancy.
Proquest
This database contains numerous articles taken from journals and periodicals in the various allied health areas. Many of the articles are full-text and peer reviewed. Using the Advanced Search feature, the database can be used to access individual articles and look at entire issues of a publication. Using specific keywords or phrases (i.e. telemedicine, medical confidentiality) will result in articles covering a wide variety of topics.
To access articles in either of the above suggested databases click the online databases link from the library’s homepage( http://www.tridenttech.edu/library.htm). For access to articles while off campus click here. For tips on how to use the databases visit the tutorials section of the library webpage.
Samples of suggested journals within the databases to use (Contain refereed or peer reviewed articles. More scholarly in nature than magazines written for the general public). There are many more contained in the databases.
