The following resources are available in the Learning Resource Center to assist with research in the Ophthalmic Clinical Assistant Program.

JOURNAL ARTICLES

ONLINE DATABASES

The LRC’s online databases can be found under the "Research" link on the library's homepage. These databases contain online journal, magazine and newspaper articles as well as chapters from reference materials.  Databases can be accessed on and off campus.  Access off-campus requires a current (updated once each term) Library ID number (13 digit bar code number found on your Trident ID card). Listed below are several databases that will be helpful in your search for information related to Opthalmology.

     Academic Onefile - Access to periodical and news content as well as indexing from a variety of general and specialized journals .

CINAHL - CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 620 journals indexed in CINAHL. CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the definitive research tool for all areas of nursing and allied health literature

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition - Provides scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also features abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals. The material contained in this database is intended for informational purposes only. Contains Ophthalmology Times. .

Health and Wellness Resource Center - Magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on all areas of health and wellness.  Also includes links to selected websites. The material contained in this Resource Center is intended for informational purposes only.  

Infortrac General Onefile – A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images. Updated daily.

Medline – Find journal articles in ophthalmology publications -  Provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE allows users to search abstracts from over 4,600 current biomedical journals.

NetLibrary –  Contains thousands of electronic books which can be read online. Using a keyword search will return more titles on your subject.

Proquest Direct - Access to full-text articles on career and technical education.

BOOKS

             Titles can be found using the library’s online catalog. Use a keyword search.

DICTIONARIES & ENCYCLOPEDIASthe LRC owns several dictitonaries and encyclopedias which can be used in the LRC.
