            Includes information on accessibility, plumbing elements, built-in elements, etc.

            Gives requirements for accessibility bathrooms, kitchens with drawings to illustrate width wheelchair needs in order to turn around and so on.

Americans with Disabilities Act:  Title II Technical Assistance Manual

            Covers what public entities must provide, restaurants, historic homes, curb ramps; what is necessary and what is not..  Gives info on valet parking, automated teller machines (ATMs), etc.

Defines what a disability is and how it is determined and gives things needed in order to ensure a mobility-impaired person could survive  and escape a fire.

 

Legal Rights for Persons with Disabilities

Although this was issued by state of California, it discusses the federal requirements as well with accessibility from curbs to auditoriums, historic homes, theatres, stadiums, etc.

            This site gives background of and discussion of ACAA with advice for traveling, airport tips, etc.

            Everything you want to know about specially adapted housing for veterans, including pictures of bathrooms, carpets, hallways, entrances, etc., and the requirements for each segment of the house.

 

 

Accessing Assistive Technology  (http://www.pai-ca.org/pubs/533201.htm)

            Although this is for Western US veterans, the same rules apply to all wounded

veterans in need of specially adapted houses.

 

 

Special Adapted Housing Questions and Answers

This gives the requirements/criteria for applying for such grants and also the requirements for size of doorways, hallways, treatment of plumbing pipes and fixtures, and so on.
