Trident Technical College Foundation History
Established in 1975, the Trident Technical College Foundation exists to raise funds to help bridge the gap between needs and resources for TTC students and employees. The Foundation operates independently of the College as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
In 1980, the Board of Trustees undertook its first general fund-raising campaign. At that time, the community and TTC employees contributed three-year pledges and gifts of nearly $83,000. At the end of the 1980 fiscal year, Foundation assets totaled $78,832, and fall enrollment at the College reached 5,649.
In 2005, the Foundation completed the first capital campaign in the 41 year history of the college, raising more than $3 million in private funds to support the renovation of the Complex for Economic Development.
During the 2008 fiscal year, the Foundation received contributions from the community and corporations totaling $1,044,964.The Foundation’s assets totaled $5,859,821 as of June 30, 2008.
In 2009, the Foundation supported the college with over $1.4 milion from contributions, grants, services, and equipment.
The Foundation has a 77 member board of trustees with nine emeritus members. Three staff members support the Foundation. |
