STUDENT INVITATIONAL COMPETITION

The 2007 Carolinas Hospitality Student Invitational was held January 29 & 30, 2007 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, in conjunction with the Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Supply Show of the Southeast.  The Student Invitational attracted nearly 200 high school juniors and seniors from 19 high schools in South and North Carolina.

Students competed in either ProStart Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management or LMP Lodging Tourism Management.  The South Carolina Tourism & Hospitality Educational Foundation presented awards to the top three teams in a Culinary Arts Competition; Foodservice Management Competition; and Lodging Management Competition.

The winning students were awarded over $500,000 in college scholarships.  The first place team in each of the three divisions will represent South Carolina in the National ProStart Student Invitational to be held in Charlotte, April 20 - 23, or the National Lodging Management Competition in Orlando, April 16 - 18.
