Accounting Basics

Accounting is the language of business and every business owner should be able to speak the language. The course is taught by an experienced, local accountant  who will help you gain an understanding of financial reports and how to measure profitability in this four-week, 24-hour course. You will learn accounting terminology and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Discover the importance of auditing, and the value of external financial reports. We also cover inventory management (LIFO, FIFO and weighted average). This course is for managers, business owners, professionals and administrative staff, including those from non-financial backgrounds.  Materials not included

Building a Successful Business Using the Internet

Create a Web site and a potential business of your own. This 10-week, three-hour course delivers a proven step-by-step process to design, create, market and implement a potential high-profit business. All you need is the ability to brainstorm and write simple text documents and a burning desire to launch or strengthen an online business. REAL Entrepreneurship

Do you have a business idea but are not quite sure what to do with it? This nine-week, 27-hour course uses exercises and self-discovery to help you take your idea to the next level. Targeted to new entrepreneurs or those who need to assess their skills, this program allows you to analyze yourself and your community as well as research, plan, open and own enterprises intended to contribute to the local economy and provide meaningful employment. You are guided through the process of researching, planning and running a small business.
