The course begins with a brief description of fiberglass. Several fiberglass fabrics are handled and discussed, and safety and disposal are covered. You get hands-on with polyester resin, MEKP, cabosil, microballoons, chopped glass, milled glass, milled cotton, acetone, styrene and measuring devices. Each chemical, device and tool is discussed and demonstrated as well as five types of resin: boatyard polyester, GP polyester, vinylester, isophthalic and epoxies.
