2008 SC Flim Production Fund

Trident Technical College’s South Carolina Film Production Fund application procedure is unique. This year TTC plans to increase the number of awards funded by reducing the length of the films and the amount of the awards. The college will only accept proposals for short, fictional narrative films. By limiting the length and scale of the collaborative productions, the college hopes to work with two separate filmmakers as well as fund an in house production. Please carefully read the information below so that you understand this year’s requirements and application process.

 Trident Technical College’s Partnership Criteria

Before submitting a script to Trident Technical College, please carefully read all the information on this website as well as the South Carolina Film Commission website at http://www.scfilmoffice.com/prodfund.html.

You must understand that a good script is only one component of the project’s application process. Applicants for the SC Film Production Fund who wish to partner with Trident Technical College must be able to answer YES to ALL of following questions:

  • Do you have the production expertise and a proven track record as a filmmaker or producer? If not, are you presently affiliated with a filmmaker or producer who does have the production expertise and a proven track record as a filmmaker or producer

  • Have you secured ALL the necessary rights and clearances to use the material prior to submitting your script?

  • Can you fully and correctly complete the SC Film Production Fund application package which includes an application, overview, personnel description, budget, timeline and script?

  • Do you have the necessary financial resources? The South Carolina Film Commission awards funds only after receipt of billing and proof of payment (cancelled check or paid invoice). This means that you must pay all your production expenses upfront and out of pocket before you submit a request for reimbursement with paid invoices attached so that you can be reimbursed.

  • Can you complete the project within one year from the date of the award and signing the contract?

The SC Film Commission Film Production Fund Review Panel will be assessing your business plan, timeline, budget and ability to complete the project using nationally recognized film professionals. So please be sure that you have ALL the resources and expertise necessary to successfully compete for this fund on the state level before you submit your script to Trident Technical College.
