Established in memory of Vance B. Horton Sr., father of TTC President Dr. Mary Thornley,  to assist students needing financial support to acquire skills and become independent, productive members of the region's work force.

Student Eligibility:  New, returning or continuing students are eligible to apply.

To qualify: Must have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA (or equivalent) in high school or at TTC; enroll in an associate degree, diploma or certificate program; maintain at least six credit hourswith a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA; must demonstrate financial need and document community service.

Award amount/use: Up to $1,000 ($500 for Fall semester and $500 for Spring semester) for tuition and books for up to two years if student continues to qualify. Maximum total award: $2,000.
