Established to recognize and assist motivated individuals who, because of family and job-related responsibilities, may not otherwise have the opportunity to succeed. Recipients in good standing will be eligible to apply for internships at Gene Reed Toyota or Lexus of Charleston.

Student Eligibility: New, returning or continuing students are eligible to apply.

To qualify: Tri-county resident. If a full-time student, must be enrolled in 12 semester credit hours or more; if a part-time student, be enrolled in at least six semester credit hours. Must enroll in and maintain at least six semester credit hours at TTC with a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA. Preference given to students in automotive, business and information technology programs. To remain eligible these criteria must be met each semester.

Award amount/use: For full time students, up to $1,250 for Fall and Spring semesters for up to two years if student continues to qualify (maximum total award: $5,000). For part time students, up to $625 for Fall and Spring semesters for up to four years, if student continues to qualify (maximum total award: $5,000). Use for tuition, books, class-related equipment and tools, and child care.

Essay Requirement:  An essay is required by the applicant that describes the applicant's career plan and how this scholarship would affect that plan.  The essay should also allude to how the applicant hopes to make a difference in our community.  Instructions for submitting the essay will be provided during the application process.
