Established by the late S.C. Sen. Strom Thurmond in honor of the father of Charleston Mayor Joe Riley Jr., for students in need of financial assistance.

Student Eligibility: New, returning or continuing students are eligible to apply.

To qualify: Legal resident of South Carolina in need of financial assistance.

Award amount/use: A one-time award of up to $300 for tuition.
