Career Development Process

In today’s economy, change occurs rapidly and, often, unexpectedly.  If anything, we anticipate this rate of change to continue to speed up in the future.  Today’s high school graduates can anticipate up to 10 significant career changes in their working lives.  Even a person near the middle of his or her working life who is experiencing or contemplating a career change today, may see 4 to 5 more significant changes in the future.  To the extent that you can, it is in your best interest to develop skills related to career development and to use them to your advantage.  Click on the below to view the  PowerPoint presentation  to learn about the career development process.  The process also represents the methodological approach that our counselors use regarding providing career development services.
