PURPOSE: To establish procedures enabling Trident to account for all revenue received in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- RECEIPT OF MONEY
Amounts due the college may be paid in cash, by check or with currently accepted charge cards.
- Business Offices - Cashiers will issue receipts (TTC Forms T-3-74 and T-C-75) for all payments received. Funds will be deposited daily. Cashiers will be responsible for their collections and will balance their intake to system generated transactional reports. Outages will be reported to the Business Manager and to the Accounting Manager, who will determine resolution procedures. Large cash deposits (such as registration receipts) will be transported to the bank by armored car or by public safety escorts.
- Finance Department - The Finance Department (Central Office) will maintain a check log for funds received in the Finance Department. This log will be compared to daily validated deposit slips. Appropriate and timely records will be maintained by a Finance Department employee who is independent of the cash collection activity.
- RECEIPT OF FEDERAL FUNDS
The Finance Department will deposit federal funds in the operational bank account. Each receipt of funds from federal sources will be recorded in compliance with the requirements of that program’s contractual requirements.
