  1. The category non-teaching faculty includes those individuals so closely involved with the education\instructional process that their community of interest is much closer to that of the teaching faculty than it is to the group of employees referred to as classified. Included in this group are continuing education faculty and professional librarians. TTC may designate other personnel as non-teaching faculty upon submission of justification and prior approval of the Executive Director of the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education.
  2. The college will employ non-teaching faculty members on 9-month or 12-month contracts corresponding to the dates of each academic year and according to the needs of the institution.
  3. Recruitment and Selection.
The college may appoint individuals to the position of non-teaching faculty from outside the system or from a position of a teaching faculty member or from the position of classified employee. The college will make the appointment in accordance with the compensation plan under the appropriate salary range. The terms, duration and other conditions of each appointment will be stated in writing at the time of the employment.

All secondary employment requires prior written presidential approval on form T3-24.
  6. Performance Appraisal.
The college will appraise non-teaching faculty at least annually on the standard EPMS form. Appropriate supervisors should request blank appraisal forms as needed from Trident's Human Resources office. Annual performance appraisals will be completed in accordance with the universal review dates established for each college division.
