How much time does the COMPASS placement take?
COMPASS, TTC's placement test, is self-directed and not timed. Most students take about 90 minutes to complete the entire test of writing, reading, math. For more information concerning placement testing go to Testing Services' COMPASS.
How can I prepare for the COMPASS placement test?
COMPASS is not a pass/fail test; however, some academic programs have set mandatory scores for program admission. To refresh your skills, you might want to review a GED Study Guide, go online for COMPASS sample questions.

What happens after I test?
You will receive a copy of your scores and you will be directed to the Orientation Center. At Orientation, you will receive information concerning the college and be assigned an Academic Advisor. Also, they will provide information concerning your test scores and your re-test options. Testing Services does not interpret test scores.
Do I need to schedule an appointment to take the COMPASS placement test?

What is ASSET, and who takes it?
ASSET, developed by ACT, is TTC's paper-and-pencil placement test used primarily for off-campus testing in area high schools. ASSET helps identify your present strengths and needs in the areas of writing, reading, and math. To refresh your skills, you might want to go online for ASSET sample questions.
Does TTC have a foreign language challenge test?
The Foreign Language Credit-by-Exam enables students to challenge either 101, 102, 201, or 202 levels of a foreign language. The test consist of both writing and listening sections. It is multiple-choice and approximately one hour in length. To receive credit for the 201 and 202 levels, additional assessment is required by the Language Department. The College-Level Examination Program of the College Board is a national system of credit-by-examination. TTC is an open testing center for CLEP examinations. The exams are available at the Main campus and the Palmer campus.
