Goal One—Educational Programs
To provide quality education and promote economic development by offering diverse and innovative credit and continuing education programs.
- Develop and deliver instructional programs that meet the needs of students and employers.
- Expand distance learning instruction and services.
- Provide programs and services to meet the needs of service area high school students and school districts.
- Secure and maintain specialized program accreditations.
- Strengthen the College’s assessment of instruction and services.
- Expand alliances/partnerships with business, industry, and other educational institutions.
- Expand workforce training and retraining for business and industry.
Goal Two—Student Success
To provide programs and services which promote success and enhance the quality of life for students.
- Provide student services which address the needs of all students.
- Expand learning assistance opportunities for students.
- Provide student access to computers, Internet and other instructional technologies.
- Strengthen admissions, financial aid and orientation processes to improve customer service.
- Strengthen the advising and registration processes to improve customer service.
- Ensure access and equity for minority students.
- Provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills.
- Define, assess and improve the retention of students.
Goal Three—Administration
To continuously improve management systems and organizational structures.
- Implement a process for review and evaluation of the College’s strategic plan.
- Integrate the philosophy, concepts and principles of continuous quality improvement into the College’s programs and services.
Goal Four—Communication
To communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students as well as with external constituencies, agencies and legislative bodies.
- Implement and disseminate an internal college communication plan.
- Annually develop, implement and monitor a communication plan for external constituencies, agencies, and legislative bodies.
- Involve faculty, staff and students in decision making.
Goal Five—Human Resources
To recruit, employ and retain a diverse, highly qualified faculty and staff, to provide competitive salaries, and to provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Recruit, employ and retain a multi-cultural, highly qualified faculty and staff sufficient to serve the student enrollment.
- Secure funding in order to recruit, employ and retain a multi-cultural, highly qualified faculty and staff.
- Expand opportunities for faculty and staff members to be multi-skilled and technologically proficient in order to perform in the changing workplace of the 21st century.
- Actively seek additional funding from private, state, and federal sources for expansion of the College’s professional development programs.
Goal Six—Physical Resources
To acquire, build, renovate and maintain physical facilities; to acquire state of the art equipment and technology; and to provide technical support services.
- Improve utilization of existing facilities and secure adequate space for instruction and other college functions.
- Identify and seek funding for needed academic and administrative equipment.
- Implement the most current Campus Master Plan, subject to funding and other constraints.
- Complete the renovation of the Complex for Industrial and Economic Development.
- Provide systematic preventive maintenance for the college’s buildings grounds and equipment.
- Expand the College’s technical infrastructure to support academic and administrative needs, including networking of the three campuses.
Goal Seven—Financial Resources
To acquire adequate financial resources, to allocate them effectively, and to ensure strict accountability.
- Secure funding from the three counties for facilities maintenance and operations.
- Increase College support from Foundation and alumni.
- Increase support from public and private grant funds.
- Integrate strategic planning, institutional effectiveness and the budgeting process.
- Document the college’s fiscal accountability.
- Increase state funding by improving the college’s performance funding score.
- Strengthen the college’s share of state funding by increasing the college’s enrollment.
