Master landscape design, lawn management and the care and nurturing of trees with horticulture courses from Trident Technical College’s Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development. A new series of courses begins in February.
Landscape Design – Introduction provides hands-on practice with the basic principles of landscape design and analyzing the site. It meets 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 5-12. Cost is $85. Landscaping with Trees and Shrubs teaches you how to select, locate and grow these effective landscape elements. Class meets Thursday, Feb. 21 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $70.
Landscape Design – Advanced covers designing hardscapes as well as costing out materials and labor. It is offered 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 4-11. Cost is $85. Learn from the experts and get all of your gardening questions answered in Spring in the Lowcountry Garden – Master Gardener Program, which is offered 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 8. Cost is $20. Got Trees? The Care and Nurturing of Trees covers tree anatomy and physiology, climate, and environmental factors for successful growth and nutrition. This course is offered 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 18-27. Cost is $110.
Learn about lawn management from a different point of view in Holistic Lawn Management. Topics include fertilization, insect and disease control, irrigation and other facets of lawn maintenance. This course is offered 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 3. Cost is $70.
