Make the most out of your home and garden with continuing education courses at Trident Technical College.

Learn about lawn management from a different point of view in Holistic Lawn Management. Topics include fertilization, insect and disease control, irrigation and other facets of lawn maintenance. This course is offered 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. Cost is $70.  Landscape Design – Introduction provides hands-on practice with the basic principles of landscape design and analyzing the site. It meets 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 18-25. Landscape Design – Advanced covers designing hardscapes as well as costing out materials and labor. It is offered 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 23-30. The landscape design courses are $85 each.

Other horticulture courses include the Master Gardener Program, where you learn how to spruce up your garden for fall. It meets 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. Cost is $20. Landscaping with Trees and Shrubs teaches you how to select, locate and grow these effective landscape elements. Class meets Thursday, Oct. 11 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $70.

For the home, Interior Design I covers the basic rules for color, wallpapering, furniture arranging and accessorizing and lighting. Class meets 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 16-Dec. 4, and the cost is $149. Interior Design II covers design theory, working with color schemes, psychology of color and good planning. It is offered 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 18-Dec. 6.
