Elements of a CampusCruiser Page -- Details

CampusCruiser 's pages have a consistent design. The left side and top portion of each page remain fixed while the larger area covering the right bottom portion of each page changes. The left side of each page is called the Menu Bar. (In the My Cruiser page, the left side is a personalized short-cut bar.) The top part of each page is where you'll find the banner ad.

In each CampusCruiser page you will find the following standard features:

First-Level Tabs
Where? First-Level Tabsare found near the top of each page, directly below the banner ad.

What are they? First-Level Tabs can be used to navigate between the major divisions of features in CampusCruiser. CampusCruiser has four First-Level Tabs: Campus, Personal, Academics and Campus Life.

Second-Level Tabs
Second-Level Tabs are subordinate to the First-Level Tabs in which they reside. Each First-Level Tab has its own Second-Level Tabs, located directly below its name.

  • CampusCruiser located in the First-Level Tabs has three sections:
    General, Offices and Admin Tools
  • Personal has seven sections:
    Calendars, E-mail, Address Book, To Do List, Web Pages,
    Photo Albums, Preferences
  • Academics has two section: Department, Classes
  • CampusCruiser Life
    Clubs/Activities, Committees, Directory

What are they? Second-Level Tabs allow you to access specific features in CampusCruiser .

How? Click on Second-Level Tabs allow you to access specific features; note that items in the Menu Bar will Change accordingly.

MENU BAR
Where? The Menu Bar is found beneath the First-Level Tabs on the left side of the screen.

What? The Menu Bar is where different menus are displayed. For example, a class may have one menu with options for students, and another menu with options for teachers. Both menus will b available in the Menu Bar.

How? Locate a menu of your choice and click on a menu option.

GLOBAL BAR
Where? The Global Bar is accessible from all pages under the Second-Level Tabs.

What?
The Global Bar displays the Sign In and Sign Out button, the name of your specific Campus in the CampusCruiser community and your MY Cruiser link. The Global Bar also is where you access CampusCruiser Help Files, FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), and the Feedback Form.

How? Click on the option in the Global Bar that suits your needs.

MY CRUISER

Where? The My Cruiser option is available in the Global Bar at all times.

What? Clicking the My Cruiser option brings you to all of your My Cruiser page. This page acts as a shortcut to your personalized features (i.e., E-mail, To Do List, etc.) in CampusCruiser by providing links to them.

How? Click the My Cruiser link in Global Bar to access your My Cruiser page.

CampusCruiser LOGO AREA
Where? The CampusCruiser Logo area is located in the lower left corner, under the Menu Bar of each page.

What?
You can jump to CampusCruiser 's supersite.

How? You simply click on the logo.

BANNER AD AREA
Where? The Banner Ad area is located on the upper and lower part of the page.

What?
You can jump to the the advertiser's site.

How? You simply click on the Banner.

GLOBAL SEARCH AREA
Where? The Global Search Area is below the last menu in the Menu Bar on the lower left side of each page.

What?
You can do a search of the whole CampusCruiser Site by section and by keywords.

How? You simply click the drop-down list and select a section to search. Then enter any keyword into the text field and click on GO

CampusCruiser LOGO AREA

Where? The CampusCruiser Logo Area is found in the upper left corner.

What? You can go to the CampusCruiser URL.

How? Simply click on the logo.

WEATHER AREA
Where? The Weather Area is directly below the Global Search Area on the left side of the screen.

What?
You can see the current local weather of your area.

How? Our weather feed tells you the locations, current temperature and weather conditions about your area.

CONTENT AREA
Where? The Content Area is area covering most of the web page, under the First and Second Level Tabs and comprising the middle and lower right of the screen.

What? Most of CampusCruiser 's features and content are displayed here.

How? Content that gets displayed is contingent upon which Second-Level Tabs you select, as well as which menu options you choose to use. Please reference the help files for the Second-Level Tabs of your choice for more details.
