The Culinary Institute of Charleston has expanded at Trident Technical College's Palmer Campus located in downtown Charleston. Beginning in August, the Culinary Institute will offer convenient advanced training opportunities to the restaurant and hospitality industry as well as continuing education classes for both industry professionals and the community.  The site will also provide possibilities for national organizations and agencies to offer advanced research and development activities. The 26,000-square foot facility features a 50-seat dining room, 100-seat amphitheater and demonstration kitchen, production kitchen, general teaching kitchen, nutrition kitchen/R&D lab, artisanal baking lab, and beverage operations  lab.
